Day 3: No races due to lack of wind

The surfers went on the water twice but no luck with the wind and the wrong wind direction. Tough decisions for the Race Director but it was just not possible to have an official race.

Luckily we could arrange a special slalom photo shoot for the press and sponsors. Pictures will go up tomorrow morning. Also the Freestylers gave a nice ‘low-wind’ demonstration.

Tomorrow the wind predictions are great so we hope to get some slalom series completed. In the afternoon: FREESTYLE competition is happening!

    Day 3…. What more can I say….the wind gods just stayed at their Easter Breakfast today and decided not to show up… (I made a phone call and they said that tomorrow they will be on the job again:)
    It just goes to show that our sport is directly connected to nature. It is why most of us like the feeling of windsurfing… to feel connected with water, wind, and rays :) The race committee found themselves again in a tough situation today between racing and not racing. With safety in mind and the golden rule of at least 40% that must be able to plane the decision was certain. Today was not suitable to slalom race.
